Historical information on Trails End Motel for 1976 Bicentennial Celebration in Waupun, WI. *Facts are typed and was scanned with mistakes, if any, left uncorrected. Trails End Motel Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hanson of Racine assumed ownership and operation of the Trails End Motel from Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dykstra on October 1, 1961, and they are still operating it today. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dykstra built the ten unit motel in 1955 and had operated it since that time. The motel is located or the north side of the highways 26 and 151 about one mile north east of Waupun. The ten unit motel, plus living quarters, an office and gift shot, was constructed by the De Young brothers and the Friesland Lumber Company. The motel, of wood and brick construction, is heated by hot water heat and suitable for year-round occupancy.
