Tired TreesScope and Content
Poem by June Kelly, typed or printed, black on white, a poem about trees and falling leaves with the words cleverly placed inside of a drawn outline of a tree and the falling leaves.
TIRED TREES
By June Kelly
Solid sunshine, lying
On lawns, sifting down,
Now softly, now in vengeful
Gust, from tired trees ready
To unburden their laden limbs.
Weary of a summer ful of holding
Shade and nests and bird songs
And squirrels and crawling
Catterpillars and
Climbing children
And op - arted
Owls.
TREES
Drop the dress they donned
So eagerly in Spring
