Waupun Memorial Hospital opened its door on July 11, 1951, to begin to offer patient care services. We have 100 beds and twelve bassinets.
It is a non-profit corporation sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis, whose Motherhouse is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The hospital is dependent for its financial support on the income from patient care and on the contributions of its friends.
Hospitals are organized to care for the sick and injured. Waupun Memorial Hospital has an organized medical staff that directs the professional work in the hospital.

Past administrators include: Sister Fortuna, 1951-1956; Sister Gervase, 1956-1962; Sister Fortuna returned, 1962-1967; Sister BArbara, 1967-1968; Sister Celine, 1968-1975.
The hospital's first medical staff was comprised of Drs. C.P. Reslock; J. Semmens; W.J. Petters; W.A. Wagner; H.G. Bayley; L.W. Schrank; J. Sinnett; E. Schmidt; R.E. Schrank; H.H. Hull and R. Schoen.
Members of the present medical staff: Drs. C.P. Arellano, E.C. Arellano; P.A. Allen; R. Barajas; J. Bartholmai; H.G. Bayley; R.S. Cook; D.P. Cupery; M.A. Farooq; Royce C. Lin; O.E. Meyers; W.J. Petters; P.M. Plueddeman; W.A. Wagner; T. Rowan; L.W. Schrank; U.K. Shahrokh.
New patient services added since the hospital first opened are Hemodialysis, Coronary Monitored Unit, Recovery Room , Residential Care Unit and Medical Social Services.
Original patient services expanded upon are Physical Therapy; Pharmacy; Laboratory and radiology.
Newly formed departments are Centralized Dietary Department: Personnel and Public Relations Department; Centralized Purchasing; Data Processing; organization of a Housekeeping Department: Director of Nursing Service, and Patient Care Coordinator Department..
Waupun Memorial Hospital formed the first Certified Laboratory Assistant School in Wisconsin in 1963. It is coordinated by Dr. T. Rowan and is fully accredited.
In October, 1969, an Advisory Board was formed with Mr. Francis Hein as president. The Advisory Board has since become the Board of Directors with 15 members. Present officers are Ervin Fletcher, president; Jack Nugent, first vice-president; Armin Paff, second vice-president; Len Beske, treasurer and Watson Sterk, secretary.
In 1973, an annex to the hospital was remodeled into a clinic (Elm Avenue Clinic) where the Drs. Arellano are presently in practice.
