The Patriot
A patriot stands tall, hand over heart, with his mind solely focused on the flag until the last note of the anthem echoes through the stadium.
A patriot stands alone waving her husband off to war, offering a piece of herself as he steps on the plane.
A patriot sits on a blanket, with fireworks blazing above, teaching her children what Independence Day is about.
A patriot crawls through fields of dust, shells flying over head. He tightens his helmet and continues on with fidelity.
A patriot thanks her grandfather for the years of service and sacrifice, that he dedicated years before she was born.
A patriot carries the burden of the price paid for freedom as he lifts up the coffin and marches forward.
A patriot kneels at her bed folding her little hands, praying for our president and thanking God for America.
These patriots, deeds great or small, make up the land of the free and home of the brave.
Patriotism is showing one's devotion for one's country. It does not come with age, for it can be in the heart of the littlest child.Acquisition
