Shaler Umbrella Instructions
1. To unfold the umbrella for use, join the rod together in one piece, and the holding the umbrella down with cover toward the ground, take hold of the slide, which will be close to the top, and pull it up toward and within six inches of handle.
Slide can only be pulled away from top by holding the top of the umbrella toward to ground.
2. Thr reverse position of umbrella holing the umbrella up as above. Then push the slide up onto upper spring as in opening any ordinary umbrella.
The ribs will automatically lock themselves into place and the umbrella is now ready for use.
Note:
Should any of the ribs not snap automatically into rigid position, place the two first fingers under the rib between the rib and cover and with the thumb snap them into place.
4. To fold umbrella grasp it firmly by the handle, break or fold the ribs by pulling outward as above, If you should make an error and push the slide all the way up before first breaking the joints, don't try to get the slide back; break the joints and hold towards the ground, and everthing will be all right.
5. Hold the umbrella down, push the slide to upper spring where it will stop. By pressing on the spring you can push slide on up to very top. The slide must be against very top as above before you can fold it.
6. Then fold the rod by first pressing with the fingers of one hand on the small spring in the middle of the rod and then with the other hand give the lower part of the rod a slight pull to expose the hinge which allows the rod to fold..
Don't fold the rod until the hinge is fully exposed.Acquisition
