Surgery Center Addition
Waupun Memorial Hospital's (WMH) new state-of-the-art surgery addition will encompass more than 10,000 square feet at its 620 W. Brown Street campus. Completion is expected in early summer 2007.
The addition, which will be constructed within the existing courtyard off Elm Avenue, will feature three high-tech operating rooms, an endoscopy procedure room (for procedures like colonoscopies), 11 pre/postoperative patient rooms, four post anesthesia recovery rooms and centralized sterile processing area.
It will also include a private consultation and family waiting area with a separate vending/dining room.
The $4.5 million project will also include the remodeling of an existing 1,360-square-feet space, as well as the addition of a new larger patient care elevator. WMH patients will experience easy access to the new surgery area on the hospital's first floor near the cafeteria.
WMH's Surgical Services offers a variety of procedures, some of which include: total hip and knee replacement, breast biopsies and procedures, hernia repairs, cataracts, gall bladders, stomach surgeries, ear nose and throat cases, such as sinus surgery and tonsillectomies, and much more.
