Mary Nugent Keepers "Cabaret in Concert"
Mary Keepers has sung professionally in just about every venue possible for a vocalist .. theatre, nightclubs, cabaret, opera, concerts, church services, weddings, funerals, radio and TV commercials, and numerous club and church programs. She was the vocalist/storyteller on the audio-cassette recording that accompanied the original "Barney" videos (yea, THAT Barney!) and has performed over 25 leading musical comedy roles. Since moving to the Twin Cities almost ten years ago, Mary has appeared with The Classic Theatre and North Star Opera Co. In February of 1992, she founded the Mayflower Theatre Project ... a community theatre program offering year-round acting classes and performance opportunities to anyone school-age through adult. The Project is housed at the Mayflower Church in South Minneapolis. Directing credits include high school productions of "The Apple Tree", "Guys and Dolls", and "Bye Bye Birdie" and well as the musical "Working" for the Mayflower Music Series.
Mary lives in South Minneapolis with husband Fred, and three children Chauncey, Jackie, and Nathan. She is extremely grateful to them for their never-ending patience, humor, love, and support.
Mary is a former Waupun resident whose mother, Ileen Nugent, and mother-in-law, Gretta Keepers are active, supportive member of the Waupun Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
We are extremely appreciative to Mary and Ileen for bringing this musical evening to Waupun as a benefit for our Hospital.
