GREETINGS AT CHRISTMAS TIME !!
The Christmas season, of course, is a time of great wonder and joy. He, who is the Creator and Sustainer of our mighty universe, a universe so immense that our minds can't begin to fathom it, has visited our planet; being born in a manger in Bethlehem. We, who seem so insignificant, when we consider our enormous universe, are nevertheless loved by God - he came to us
in the birth of His Son.
Wonders and Joy.
This season finds us all well. It is hard to believe the three boys are all teenagers.
Son George is in the second year at the University of Wisconsin - Mileaukee (sp). His interest seems to lie in the direction of social work and counseling. Last summer he worked for Alto Creamery. It was good work experience and he hopes to go back there next summer. He also runs a great deal - having entered several long-distance runs.
Jim is a High School senior. He will enter college in the Fall but is uncertain where. He is active in sports - baseball, cross-country track, tennis, golf and wrestling. In wrestling, he qualified for state last winter and hopes to do better this year. He is also active in church choir and Youth Fellowship.
David is a High School freshman. Drama, music (guitar, piano and vocal), tennis, 4-H, the High School yearbook, student council are some of his activities. He seems to be involved in most everything.
With the children all working during the summer, it is hard for us to get away. Nola and George took a trip West this Fall. We visited Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. We travelled (sp) quite a few miles for just two weeks. Too much in too short a time. We did see some very varied and beautiful scenery and visited with both Nola's brother and wife and George's brother and family. The trip was a real pleasure.
After the Christmas Eve Service we will drive to North Carolina for a week with Nola's parents. The whole family will make this trip.
Nola is still working at the Wisconsin Correctional Institution, Fox Lake as a teacher. Between her job, her work at home, church activities And following the boys' activities, she has about all she can do.
George, of course, still serves The Union-Congregational Church and is most happy in his work. He finds it a privilege and a joy to minister and stand with his congregation, as together they seek to grow in their understanding of the gospel and in the service of the Savior.
We trust and pray that Christ will be especially real and close to you throughout this season of the year and may He continue to enrich your life in the New Year.
Sincerely,
Pastor and Mrs. George Woldseth
