-2- [con't from 2001.0034.0022 [Dentistry] School." He was born in Waupun in 1868. Shortly after he established a practice here, he opened an office at Brandon, being there some hours each week. He married Jessie Roberts, daughter of a well known Waupun family, Mr. Roberts being at one time Warden of the Prison. Dr. Welch had a brother, also a dentist, who located in Chicago. Not much later Dr. John Loomans of Waupun graduated from the Chicago Dental School and entered into partnership with Dr. Welch. He married Eva Gamble of Fox Lake. Dr. Walter Weinberger of Waupun studied in the office of Welch and Loomans, later graduated from Marquette, and entered into partnership with the two dentists in that office. After the deaths of Dr. Welch and Dr. Weinberger, Dr. Hendricks came into the office of Dr. Loomans. He went into service Ieaving Dr. Loomans for a short time, but is back with him in Waupun. Dr. Loomans served on the Library Board for some years. Dr. Loomans has been President of the Building and Loan for a long time. Both Dr. Welch and Dr. Loomans did a great deal to encourage and assist in every way possible several Waupun boys to take up the dental profession. Some who have studied there include the above mentioned Dr. Weinberger, Dr. P. F. Knorr, Dr. Robert Mc Farland, and Joe Wilkes, who became a salesman for a dental supply house. A brother of Dr. John Loomans, George Loomans, is a dentist at Menasha. Dr. Knorr was born in Waupun, was a Marquette graduate and was alone in practice here for some time before going to Crivitz, where he was in practice at the time of his death. To go back little.
