"Mrs. Robert Hobkirk - An active worker in the Congregational Church. Her home, located on the present library site, was often the scene of church social activities." Her home was located where the Waupun Heritage Museum now stands, at 26 S. Madison St.
Robert Hobkirk was born August 7, 1845 and died May 3, 1913. Nettie (Mrs. Robert) Hobkirk was born April 18, 1853 and died November 19, 1931. Their children Janet (1877-1898), Elizabeth (1878-1886), Harriet (1876-1885), and Robert D. (1881-1885) all died young. It is unknown if Frank, Mary and William Hobkirk are their children, as evidenced in the 1910 Waupun City Directory.
In 1910, Mrs. Robert Hobkirk was listed as a "newsdealer" and living with her husband and daughter at 19 Mill St. She worked at 305 E. Main. By 1931, she was manager at the News Depot, 311 1/2 E. Main.
