Arthur S. Boyd Report Card 1867Scope and Content
Arthur S. Boyd report card 1867, for the months of June, July, August and September. Signed four times (each month) by his mother, Mary Boyd. The teacher was Lizzie M. Pinkerton. Arthur was tardy a total of 8 times in 4 months, 176 minutes tardy total, and present 61 days. His standing in Reading was 8.3; Spelling, 8.1; Geography, 7.0; Mental Arithmetic, 7.7; Physiology, 8; Composition, 7; Declamation, 9. Average scholarship, 8; Punctuality, 7.8; Attendance, 9.5; Deportment, 9; Average Monthly Standing, 8.5.
The box where these were found had some cabinet photos of Pinkertons. It is evident this was saved with those pictures as the teacher was a Pinkerton. I found no evidence of the Pinkerton family in the early Waupun City Directories from 1858 or 1898.
From a collection of photos and other articles found in an unmarked box in museum workroom. If you have any information about this photograph, please contact the Waupun Heritage Museum at 22 S. Madison St., Waupun, WI 53963. Phone 920-324-7931.
These photos may have come from a Mr. Zane M. Mead from Nashville, Michigan, as evidenced by two letters he wrote to Edna Stopleman on February 24 and March 3, 1975.Acquisition
