Westra Construction, a Waupun-based national construction company, closed its doors on July 15, 2005 without warning after nearly 60 years in business leaving 76 workers without employment. The business was started in 1948 by William Westra and his son Dewey. The employee-owned company had locations in Waupun, Phoenix, Arizona, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.Acquisition
