Found in museum's collection in the file cabinets in office upstairs. Handwritten by unknown woman, officers, extracts from recording secretary's books, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920...read at annual meeting March 10, 1928. Written on the back of an old calendar backing from A. C. Scott, Martha Washington Shoes, Phone 10, Waupun. Mrs. A. C. Scott was the Philharmonic Music Club's second president after Mrs. J. S. Morris [1915-1917]. 1916-17 Officers-- Picnic Green Lake, Mrs. Merigold's Mrs. Morris elected treasurer, National Federation Music Clubs. Program given for Wisconsin day with talent from Fond du Lac, Kenosha and Waterloo. Oriental evening--rugs, colors and costumes Scandinavian composers, Sonata from opera $5 to Prize fund. Mrs. Morris delegate to Birmingham, Alabama to Biennial Operetta, Feast of the Little Lanterns, given at Davison Theatre leading Japanese sopranos. Mrs. Stack, Mrs. Wildons, Sadie Johnson, Marie K, Cleared $100 Festivity--Garden Party at home of Mrs. R. M. COles Jr., State Prison Withdrawl from State Federation of Clubs to Federation of Music Clubs. Officers--Pres. Mrs. Doty, Vice Mrs. Hoffmann, Secy Mrs. L. A. Walker, Treas. Mrs. Wilms. Mrs. Stack chorus directory. Club sings at band concert on Saturday night. Picnic held at Green Lake at cottage of wooden shoe. Club met in Congregational Church and Mrs. Stapleton, Mrs. McLenegan, 1st Vice F. M. Club Red Cross work occupied hands of members Membership at this time was 28 associate members, 37 active and 16 students, total 91. On March 6, 1918, was elected honorary member. $25.00 was paid for year books, $100 liberty bond was taken out. Rugs and 8 dozen chairs sold for $62.40. Mrs. Morris reports that brand meet at Akron, Ohio, adopted French orphans for a year's donation of musical instruments. Story books sent to contonments. Much enjoying of patriotic soup. Meeting Odd Fellows Hall Concert in May 1918 by Mr. Charles Dodge and Mr. George Russell, Milwaukee. Concert in Prison Chapel by service singers. September--Flu was prevalent and permission had to be granted to hold meetings. Membership in McDowell League taken out $5 for year for four years. Pres. Mrs. Morris Sept 1919, Mother Goose Phantasy in which Alita Scott was Mother Goose was given Oct. 13, 1919. Mrs. Morris was elected Honorary Vice Pres. Nov. Fed. Music Clubs Halloween program and Dec, request program Peace Day Program 10 a.m. Nov. 11, 1919 Congregational Church Jan 5, 1920 was Phil[harmonic Music Club's] 12th birthday, a community club day held, Monday study and Stoddard clubs joined us. A 6:30 dinner for husbands and guests. Picnic at Harris & Lockhorst cottage. Oct. 25, 1920, club at 20 active [members], 68 associates. Miss Jones of Sparta gave reading Hiawatha memory contests arranged (Adams-Buell concert April 4, 1921--Musical treat Mrs. McDowell of Peterboro, New Hampshire.
