Scholarship fund Please think seriously about this decision and bring your positive thoughts to the meeting. TO: WAUPUN SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE FROM: JIM LAIRD January 15, 1990 The question of the liquidation of the profits made by the Sesquicentennial Committee was decided at an earlier meeting. The committee decided to erect a plaque to Mr. Shaler in Shaler Park and to create a scholarship. This decision was released in a press notice and published in the papers. To change the liquidation of the funds at this time raises some moral, ethical, and legal questions. If the committee decides to donate the funds in any other manner I would suggest that this decision be published in the paper and that donors have the opportunity to regain their donations and dispose of them as they see fit. I would recommend that the committee continue as decided with one modification. Only the income from the fund should he used for a scholarship. The principle should remain intact. The scholarship should exist for 22 years. After 22 years the principle should be made available for the next celebration committee.. cc. Dan Vande Zande,
