Louis Pluim in military uniform. Mr. Pluim was a High School Physical Education Teacher and Football Coach for many years. This is a photo of Mr. Pluim in his WWII military uniform. His wife Shirley completed the Military questionaire and sent it to Jim Laird.
Mr. Pluim served in Korea and achieved the rank of Private First Class, PFC.
He is on the Veteran's memorial in Shaler Memorial Park: Louis A. Pluim, PFC US Army,Korea, June 30, 1929 - Nov. 25, 1992.

Louis Pluim
Louis "Lou" A. Pluim, 63, of 503 Brandon St., Waupun, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 30, 1929, in, Waupun, a son of Tom and Della VandeSlunt Pluim. On April 24, 1953, he married Shirley Gysbers at Waupun.
Mr. Pluim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom of Waupun, and David and his wife Jill of DeForest; three daughters, Peggy Possin and her husband Jim of Madison, Julie Smith and her husband Richard of Oxnard, Calif. and Sue Coughlin and her husband Tom of Mequon; six grandchildren; one brother, Delmer and his wife Betty of Brooksville, Fla.; four sisters, Helen Howard, and Thelma Schlieve and her husband Jud both of Waupun, Marlene Schlagel of Beaver Dam, and Diane Farr and her husband Howard of North Fond du Lac; his father-in-law, Harley Gysbers of Waupun; and three sisters-in-law, Irmagard Pluim of Clearwater, Fla., Lorraine Pluim of Columbus, and Carol Mulder and her husband Dennis of Berlin.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun. The Rev. Louis Bytendorp will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in the Town of Trenton, where American Legion. Post No. 210 will conduct graveside services.Acquisition
