In going through some old photos at National Rivet (Shaler), I came across one that was of special interest to me. Among those on the photo was my maternal grandfather Ted Tetzlaff. This photo may already be in your possession, but if not, I have attached it for your use.
Unfortunately, nowhere on the photo is a date.
The Shaler Company started in 1926, that is the only clue I have.

Jim replied to Nick:
Nick,
Thanks for the great photo. I haven't found one in our collection, so this will be a great addition.
You list the Shaler company starting in 1926. This causes me some confusion. I haven't had time to search our records, but I am enclosing two full page ads from the Saturday evening post. The ads are from 1928 and 1924, one is prior to the 1926 you mention.
Stop by the museum and see what we have.
Thanks again,
Jim

The 1926 date was from an internet site, I do not know how reliable a source. My grandfather Ted served in WWI (1914-1918?). I do not think the photo is pre 1914, so post war is more likely. He appears to be in his twenties or thirties. My guess is that the photo is 1920's era. I will try to o more research in our office archives.

An update; I found out that Shaler as we know it, Rislone, etc. was founded in 1926. Shaler vulcanizers, umbrellas, and other lines date back to the late 1800's. That makes dating the Shaler baseball photo an even more difficult task. I believe that my grandfather did not start a family until after the war. My mother was born in 1920.
His age on the photo does not lend him to be a pre-war teenager. Therefore, a 1920's or early 1930's seems more likely.
