Description

The Chaplain's Bulletin is a pamphlet that is published at very irregular intervals for the members and friends of the 135th Medical Regiment, Group and Battalion by their war-time Padre, Rev. Anselm Keefe, of St. Norgert College, West DePere, Wisconsin. The Padre's tells stories and shares stories with the members and friends. The Padre receives a mail bag on a regular basis that the men of the 135th share their stories with him about they are doing or have been doing. In this tenth issue of 1954-55, it mentions that there was a fourth reunion of the 135th Medical Regiment and Group, that was held on the 18th and 19th of September at Brown's Lake Resort, Burlington, Wisconsin. Best story of this reunion (no names mentioned): The all-night crap game in one of the remote cabins, during which the regiment's most consistent loser in all it history had an unprecedented run of luck and finally called "Eleven" and shot it. One of his opponents bent over wild eyed, and dropped his set of false teeth among the other tell-tale ivories on the floor. At this business meeting it was decided that the time had come for the 135th to get organized on a permanent basis. The committee in charge of the 1955 meeting was given the responsibility of drawing up a constitution and by-laws for action at next year's reunion.
