FFA Participates/Kiwanis Scholarships from the Action Sunday West June 13, 2010 FFA participates in career events The Waupun Area FFA participated in the SW Wisconsin Career Development events in Platteville at the end of March, which served as a qualifyiing contest for the State Career Development Contests held in Madison on April 30. Qualifying for the State Contest were the Wildlife, Dairy and Dairy Showmanship teams. Earning recognition at the State FFA Career Development Contest were, left to right: Lucas VanEgtern, second place individual in Dairy Showmanship; the Dairy Judging team placed third overall and is made up of Brad Warmka (placed as the fourth place individual at the Platteville Contest), Erik Warmka (sixth place individual at the state contest and ninth place individual at the Platteville Contest ) and Carrie Warmka. Kiwanis distributes scholarships The Kiwanis Club of Waupun was able to give out three scholarships this year. Two were given to Waupun High School and one to Central Wisconsin Christian. Scholarships were based on school involvement, community service and church involvement. The recipients of the $500 scholarships are from Waupun High School - Lydia Guell and Jenell Larson. Guell will be going to Carroll University in Waukesha and Larson will be attending Jacksonville University in Florida. From Central Wisconsin Christian (CWC) was Karlee Westra.
