Dear Mr. Westra:
I have taken the liberty to request that our order department send you a copy of the film "Presence of Our Past." This most excellent film shows the activities of the State Historical Society and of local historical societies in Wisconsin. It is probably the best film that can be shown to an historical society. However, it so happens that all copies of the film are out, and, although several copies should be back in time to fill your order, people are characteristically slow in returning them after showing so that we cannot guarantee that the film will get to you on time. It is always best to order well in advance as you take your chances on short notice.
A copy of our "Guide to Educational Materials" is enclosed. "Presence of Our Past" is described on page 6. The limited selection of films we have available are listed on pages 6 and 7.
We also call your attention to page 8 for film sources that offer you a wider selection. If your schools or the public library do not have copies of the film catalogs described on page 8, write directly to the addresses given. The BAVI has a very extensive film library on all subjects, most of which, however, are not Wisconsin oriented. Nevertheless, the selection of historical subjects is quite good. The rental fees are nominal, three to five dollars for most films.
Thank you for your good wishes. I am still not in normal physical condition but am progressing quite satisfactorily and should be back to ton shape again by spring.
Sincerely yours,
William J. Schereck, Supervisor
