Think how much safer and happier your son will be at PRESTON PLACE, than spending the summer in the traffic dangers of the city or the risks of unsupervised summer resorts.
Date and Rates -
Camping season opens on Sunday, June..........., and closes on Sunday, August............, 195... . The fee for the six week season
will be $.............. A $25 reservation fee is due at the time of reservation. The balance is to be paid the day the camper arrives. A deposit of $10 should be made for incidental spending money against which your son may draw for the purchase of craft materials, films, stationery, haircuts, church collections, etc. Campers are required to wear an official camp "T" shirt on all trips and excursions away from the camp. These shirts may be purchased at the camp.
Included in the Fee -
The camp fee includes board and lodging, laundry service, excursions, field trips, overnight hikes and camps, transportation to church services, individual and group instructions in all camp activities.
Allowances -
We do not make deductions for entering late or leaving early. In case of dismissal, or withdrawal on account of illness, one-half the remaining fee will be refunded.
Medical Care -
We practice Safety First, always and everywhere. However, we do not assume responsibility for accidents and illness. They will occur now and then under the most careful supervision. The camp provides for regular visits by the camp doctor without charge, but illness requiring special attention or a trip to the hospital at Black River Falls will be at the parents' expense.
Tutoring -
Tutoring by experienced teachers is offered to boys who during the summer wish to make up for deficiencies in school work. The work is done on an individaul basis and is particularly efficient. A charge of one dollar is made per half hour period.
Well furnished buildings. Plent of goodfood, understanding counsellors, and experienced teachers, make Preston Place a camp that any boy should thoroughly enjoy.
Visitors -
We want you to visit Preston Place sometime during the camp season . . .preferably after July 10. If you can time your visit to a Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5, your son will have an opportunity to show you his cottage an introduce you to his counselors and camp mates. It is hoped that as many as possible will come to PRESTON PLACE sometime during the camp season.
Since a boy's absence from camp tends to interfere with his activities and his progress, and sometimes upsets him physically and emotionally, permission to leave camp is granted very sparingly. Campers may take one meal with parents away from the camp during the season. Please do not extend invitations to other boys. Visitors to camp will find nearby comfortable accommodations to suit every taste. Names of suitable and convenient places will be sent on request and reservations will be made.
Travel to camp -
Early in June detailed travel directions will be sent to all registered campers. At the same time a general information sheet and medical examination blanks will be mailed.Acquisition
