Good Morning, Mr. Tipton,
Enclosed you will find and I hope not too badly bent out of shape---the copy of the book on the statues in Waupun including. The End of the Trail.
My news editor did a very good. job in getting the local history of the statue put together and I think you will find it interesting reading. Must add. that the picture In the. book Is. rather old
as the bridge in the background was long gone when we moved to Waupun about 16 years, ago.
Also in the letter you Will find a copy of a color postcard Which our Chamber has at many retail outlets. I have always wish the photographer had turned the picture around so it would be vertical with a closer print of the Chief and the statue and not so much trees and grass and sky.
If you have anyother thought, about the statue I Would be more than interested. I am Working on a book about the statue and Would be pleased to get any insights you might have.
When it comes to getting information upon our favorite statue I will take the time to get it. I am just a country weekly publisher, no different than anybody else...except ulcers and gray hair—. and weekly deadlines. Feel free to write anytime you get the urge.
Sincerely,
John O.KirkpatrickAcquisition
