Description

Postcard of "The End of the Trail." This is the statue that Shaler and his wife saw at the Panama Pacific Exposition. The exposition lasted only during the year 1915 in San Francisco, CA. The statue after that time was displayed in Visalia, California. The cowboy hall of fame was building their facility and heard about the statue. They made arrangements to get the statue, restore it, and then give Visalia a bronze copy of the statue. On the back of the postcard is written: "End of th Trail, Original eighteen foot high statue created by sculptor James Earle Fraser in 1915, exhibited at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. Now in the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Sutlery Inc. National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center."
