Description

Policeman, Johnny Linnehan, is standing in front of the First Parish Church alongside Route 20. The occasion is the dedication of this section of the route as "The George Washington Memorial Highway" in July 1932. Pony rides are on the Kirkside property nextdoor. The Linnehan family came to Wayland from Ireland in 1869, settling on a farm on the Boston Post Road (Route 20). They later became active in town affairs.
