Name/Title

Secretary Desk

Description

Two piece secretary with base of three drawers and desk drawer and top of four-shelved book case with glass doors. There is a third peice, the bonnet, that is stored in the cellar of the Grout-Heard House and is shown here. The ceilings of the GHH are too low to accommodate the bonnet. The accession record states that it is a "mahogony secretary;" however upon closer inspection it appears to be veneered and possibly painted. It was donated March 27, 1957 by Edna M Ames and Ruth E Draper.
