Description

The mid 19th century upholstered Empire sofa is mahagony wood frame with rounded scrolled arms, rounded back crest rail and curved bracketed legs/feet. The wood displays a flame-like grain particularly on the curved arms. The S-scrolled arms have medallions and the legs and feet have a heavy bracket-like scrolled design, as do each side of the back supporting the rounded crest rail. The upholstery is a dark pink striped silk in good condition and covers the seat and back and also the outside part of the arms and back with wood forming the scrolled tops of the arms and back rail
