Description

Referred to as "Uncle Joes fine boots", they were owned by Joseph Herr, he was born in 1833 and died in 1918. The boots were purchased by his father Fidel Herr, Sr. , he came to Michigan from Germany in 1831. Joseph lived all of his life on a farm east point of where Cowan and Warren come together near Newburg. Joseph and Fidel are buried in Newburg Cemetery.
