The house is dated to around 1853 and was owned by Spencer Eisenlord, a mail carrier who would take mail from the train station in Wayne up to Plymouth, Northville and Brownstown. The house was near the original Wayne train station, and Eisenlord also ran a stagecoach stop out of it. When he died in 1856 he owned 13 buggies and sleighs for getting people around.
