James J. Houston was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on Sept 14, 1814. Moved to Belleville, Ohio in 1828. Moved to Belleville, Michigan in 1855 and to Wayne, MI in about 1860. Died in Wayne on April 27, 1897. He was the blacksmith of Wayne from 1860-1892.
