4237 S. Wayne Road - William Chamberlain Home. NE corner Wayne road and Clinton. After The Cyclone Storm on June 4, 1911. This home burned down June 20, 1911. It was replaced on the same site by the Collin Morrison Home. William Chamberlain purchased the home and 40 acres on the east side of Wayne road for $3,000 in 1886. In 1892 he sold 39 acres of the land to Crawford and Belanger to be divided into a subdivision, but they went under and the land reverted back in 1899. The italianate style house burned down June 20, 1911. William Chamberlain died in 1914. His daughter Anna, by that time married to Collin Morrison inherited the land, built the Morrison House on the site of the old house, and re-platted the other 39 acres into Glen-Morrison subdivision, which was then built.Cataloged By
