A 6.0" x 8.5" picture (see Notes & Legal) on thin paper with a gold border. The design shows a parlor scene with a woman knitting in front of a fireplace, a young girl in front of her wearing a long pink dress and looking pensive and a young boy on the floor leaning on his elbows and looking forward. In the background is a muted picture showing the portion of a house covered in snow.
At the top right and lower left of the card is a portion of John Greenleaf Whittier's poem, "Snowbound": What matter now the night behaved, What matter, how the north wind raved........The frost line back with tropic heat."
On the back of the card is written, "Prang 1883."
