A tin sign with leaf and scroll design, 5.125" x 8.5",almost triangular in shape with irregular edges. In the center is stenciled, "Wenham, 1825". On the back is written in ink: "Painted by G. A. Addison, June 25, 1902."
From the original accession book for an identical plaque in the collection: "Plaque from Wenham hearse found in brick receiving tomb in Wenham cemetery" and "Probably from the hearse driven by Wellington Pool when he was Town Clerk as well as sexton. There is a Ben Conant picture of Pool driving the hearse. The caretaker of the cemetery found this as well as back of hearse including door in the receiving tomb and suggested to Betty Dodge that the historical take them."
