Drum major's sash in black wool/polyester. The inside of the sash is black cotten, and the outside is black knit with elements of black felt and lined on the sides with 2 rows of silver metalic ribbon. At the should is a red felt patch with metallic thred stiched laurel and lyre (or thistle leaves) with a crown above. Next is a black felt patch with "Regimental Band of Wenham, Massachusetts" in gold metal thread. Below that is a silver metal plate with 2 miniature brown drum sticks tipped in gold. The plate is screwed through the sash. Further down are two center patches of red felt with gold metallic thread one a drum and one a stringed bugel horn, (Traditionally, the quick marching light infantry regiments used these instruments instead of carrying cumbersome drums) Where the sash sits at the hip there is a flourish of gold looped embroidery thread. Inside the sash is a strip of velcro to help it stay put. On the outside of the sash above the first red patch is a strip of velcro to attach something when needed.Collection
