Scope and Content

A 5.25" x 5.25" die-cut and valentine folded on the left side. The background is embossed in pink, gold and white. Attached to the background with paper tabs is a piece of paper lace. The lace has a sticker with a girl in a blue jacket and white skirt holding a rabbit in her right hand. The picture is skewed, so that the card has to be turned to see it right side up. Inside, not skewed, is a verse printed in red: To Somebody ----- I KNOW a maid whose smile to me Is sunshine's best bequeathing, Whose voice is dearer melody Than lyte's divinest breathing Whose presence clears my brow of shade, And cheats my heart of sorrow. And if you'd see this darling maid, Look in your glass to-morrow. On the back is written in pencil, "Mrs. Calder from Roger Dodge."
