There is a large loading door next to a regular door, and 10 window opening above, 5 of which have been bricked up or boarded up. Flat roofline. The taller building to the right, 200 Main Street, is partially visible. Photo is taken from the opposite side of Turner Court. It's a beautiful cloudless day. Portrait orientation, printed on Kodak Paper.

The building was originally built by William Ripley as a feed and flour mill on what is now Main Street around 1875. The mill was powered by a windmill. Uncertain if the building held Ferny's Salon in 1998.
200 Main street was once Ripley's Hotel, build in 1878. "The following is an excerpted description of this business from the DuPage County Democrat Jan. 12, 1898.
“One of the first questions a stranger will ask after reaching our town is: “is there a good hotel in West Chicago.” Answering we say “yes.” The Ripley Hotel, conducted by Mrs. Jane Ripley, is a first-class hotel, in every respect. The hotel is large and roomy, and is heated by steam throughout. The rooms are inviting and the beds clean and comfortable.
