Photograph, black and white showing part of the World War II Homecoming Parade, September 1946, on Main Street. Shows 5 uniformed men wearing arm fatigues and helmets carrying 2 flags (US flag in center, unknown flag on right) marching side by side all with right foot raised and about to step forward. The street is lined with parade watchers and cars. There is a garage on the right side of the photos that looks like it has a "Shell" shaped sign and "Washing" is partially visible on the side (possibly a Shell station?). The street is paved with brick.Photograph Details

The building on the left may be 305 Main Street, West Chicago, which is still an automotive repair business. Was it a Shell Station? The house in the background doesn't match what is there now, but the house that is there now may be newer - it was resided, at least.General Notes
