The children seem to be nearly the right age to be Harrison Kern Alexander's nieces, Frances Brabrook Adams and Trudeine Brabrook Laursen. Mr. Alexander's sister was Dr. Caroline Alexander Brabrook. It seems unlikely that they lived locally, though. (According to Walter Brabrook's obituary, he went to California in 1906). Both Dr. Brabrook and Frances have a photo on Find a grave.

Bryanna Bauer thought that the woman might be Anna Thogerson, who would have been the sister in law of Klea Alexander Thogerson. Klea was Kern Alexander's sister.
