It appears the Mr. Hillger was from Wisconsin, then came to Illinois to attend the Evangelical Lutheran Teacher's academy in Addison (per 1900 census records). He was in class with a Aug. W. C. Haak, which is of interest because Mrs. Bahnfleth's other maternal aunt married a Haack which is sometimes Haak, but the connection is unconfirmed.) Several Genealogical sources online confirm the marriage dates and birthdates with the Ida Hillger and Paul Hillger that are buried in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, West Seneca, New York.
Illinois Marriage database has Hillger spelled "Hilleger"General Notes
