Description

Negative, Kodak Safety film. Shows a group of men seated around a t-shaped group of tables; City Council meeting from February of 1956. The floor is checkered, and there is a large window with an American Flag on a pole in front of it in back. Most of the men are in suits; there is a man on the right in a plaid flannel shirt. There is a clock and calendar on the left wall. Landscape orientation. (The image attached is the positive scan of the negative.) This was the scene in city hall as elected and appointed officials met with the City Council and heard Mayor Walter Fawell proclaim a period of mourning on the death of Congressman Chauncey W. Reed. Included in the photograph are Ridell Kelsey, Walter Fawell, Mayor, and Felix Myles McFarland. Left back row: (front to back) Robert Schacht, Rupert Hunt, Joseph Buenrostro, Harold Spelman. Left front row: (front to back) John Grames, Willis Gladding & Walter "Wally" Mackert.
