The cotton planter was used by cotton farmers from the late 1700s until the late 1800s. A farmer could plant 8 acres of cotton seed a day using a planter. As the mule pulled the planter down the row, the blade beneath the hopper would open a small furrow. The seed would then drop from the hopper and the rear wheel would cover the seed.Made/Created
