Adkins Fork is located in Logan County, West Virginia, in an area just south of the town of Blair. In 1921, a railroad ran south through Blair and terminated at the town of Sovereign at Adkins Fork. That train then turned back towards Madison and then St. Albans, giving Blair a strategic route for supplies and troops in the miner's army. As well, Adkins Fork was the southernmost access path towards the ridgeline that was the locus of fighting in the Blair Gap area.Collection
