Officially the 10.4x38mm R Swiss Vetterli M69/81.
Nida notes that this caliber would have been extremely rare in the time and area it was found. Ramage (WV) resident Fred Ball knows a man who owns this make/model of rifle and has supplied a photo of it to the museum.Context
This artifact is part of the WTB09 archaeological survey at Whites Trace Branch in the Blair Gap Area. Exact dig site, date, and personnel are unrecorded, but is assumed to be an independent survey done by B. Nida in 2009.Collection
