Name/Title

Blair Mountain, North Crest: NC2, Archaeological Site

Entry/Object ID

NC2.04.22.07

Description

This collection is comprised of four (4) .30.06 casings (each of different manufacture) and one unidentified bullet. There is little documentation beyond numbered items, location, and date.

Context

The North Crest of Blair Mountain was another area in the large defensive line along the Blair crest, occupied by the "Bluefield Boys" volunteers, and by the "Mingo Militia" under the leadership of Capt. Lawson. This is a large site, but archaeologists have chosen to leave it largely undisturbed for now, leaving high potential for more in-depth investigation in the future.
