Large soldering iron, or soldering "copper". Handle is steel, tool end is solid copper.

Use

The standard before soldering irons were heated using electrical means, this kind of iron was heated with a torch, sometimes by mounting to a specialty torch. Soldering irons of this size and make were primarily used by tinsmiths and coppersmiths to work with thin sheet metal.
