Name/Title

Downtown Westfield Postcard from Early 1900

Entry/Object ID

Scope and Content

Postcard with a black and white picture of a street in Westfield. People are walking around and are in wagons. Also early motor vehicle. The back of the postcard says "This is a view from the town of Westfield. I suppose you will recognize it. Byron Armstrong stands at the right of the telephone pole. Love your friend Henschel B. Stalker." Was sent to Miss Gladys Barker of Eagletown Ind. Sign on the side of the big two story house says I think "Baths - 5c". Concrete side walks. Dirt road. Postmark is hard to read but looks like WESTFIELD JUL 13 7 AM 190? If it is Byron Kenneth Armstrong, born April 8th 1892, it is more likely late 1900, 1908 or 1909.
