A black box containing 46 different arrowheads found in and around Westfield. The label at the top says the following"
"All of these arrowheads were found in and around Westfield. They were found by me from 50 to 60 years ago until the present. They can still be found in fields that are still here.
"The black spearhead in the center is known as a turkey tail spearhead. There are all different types, that are too numerous to mention at this time; But can be referred to in several books on projectile points of the American Indian, in detail."
The label at the lower right corner says "This was donated to the Westfield Library by Keith A. Burgess of Westfield A 1941 Alumni."
Research Notes:
The "Turkeytail" technique is attributed to Adena culture. Some from Mississippi were dated to 4000 BC. https://www.lithicsnet.com/turkeytl.htm
