2007.7.1033Description
A color photograph of unidentified people sitting on and standing by a black sleigh with Santa Claus on a flatbed at the intersection of Main and Union Streets in Westfield during a Christmas parade. Other unidentified spectators watch from the foreground and the background. The building at the left in the background has a red and white sign that says "Carson-Wheeler Insurance." That building was constructed as a bank on the northeast corner of Main and Union Streets in 1899.
Note: This parade might have taken place on Saturday, December 2, 1972, at 1:30 pm, as evidenced in the two newspaper clippings attached to the scrapbook. There is a newspaper from Wednesday, December 6, 1972, showing the "Scenes at Westfield's Annual Parade."
