It appeared that the clean cultivation of commercial crops had presented the outbreak experienced by wild berries. This was not the case. However, crop dusting did control the problem. Elizabeth Coleman White saw a blessing in the pesty fly. By infecting the wild berries competition was reduced as the wild berries were rejected by Federal inspectors.
