Description
December 3: Wheeler thanks Elizabeth for holly plants, planted in his holly woods in fall rather than waiting for spring. Notes that holly berry crop is light. Wishes he had a holly orchard to cut from for Christmas sales. His boys were home for a large Thanksgiving dinner. Cuttings put in in fall were rooting well. Notes that the army damaged some of the last lot Elizabeth sent but he has patched them up. Army did terrible damage to another section.

Note
Wilfrid is misspelled as "Wilfred" on this typewritten copy of the original letter. This was brought to the archives' attention by Wheeler's great-granddaughter Emily Wheeler. Original letters were then found after the copy was accessioned.
