Description

Elizabeth acknowledges receipt of holly plants, Emily and Aalto #1 & #2. Plans to keep them in the greenhouse for the winter. All her hollies have made good growth, may pot up small, fruited cuttings for Christmas if enough labor. Fair cranberry crop and labor shortage means that picking won't finish before Christmas. Wheeler writes back with a description of the hollies he sent. At Boston Flower Show, spoke to florists about selling small, well fruited plants for Christmas. They like the idea, asks if Elizabeth could ship them so far. They are losing their long time companion/housekeeper and may leave the farm to spend some of winter in Boston. Holly exhibit at Flower Show did well. Asks again whether Elizabeth could send fruited plants to Boston.
