Wheeler thanks White for the material she sent on blueberries. He comments on the favorable response he received for his holly display at the Boston exhibition. (A small newspaper clipping is attached).
Most of the remaining content of these letters concerns a wild holly which Wheeler discovered. He proposes to send White about 1000 cuttings. Timing was discussed because of the cold weather as well as packing and shipping requirements. White is enthusiastic about the new specimen. Other topics include measures taken to insure the health of the original Grisom tree, a method of scoring the holly being done by the U.S.D.A., and the differences in hardiness between southern and northern hollies.

Wilfrid is misspelled as "Wilfred" on this typewritten copy of the original letter. This was brought to the archives' attention by Wheeler's great-granddaughter Emily Wheeler. Original letters were then found after the copy was accessioned.
